Conor Anthony McGregor is an Irish professional Mixed Martial Artist. He was born July 14, 1988, in Crumlin, Dublin, Ireland. Today we shall discuss the MMA background of McGregor.

McGregor was born and raised in Crumlin Dublin, Ireland and was Crumlin. He attended Irish-language schools. Besides regular studies he developed his passion for sport, playing football.

In his early life, McGregor worked as a plumber for a living. Speaking to The Mirror back in 2016, McGregor revealed that he took the job to make ends meet, saying “It just wasn’t for me”. We too understand that plumbing cannot be a profession for a man like him. The real hero was still dormant in him under the pressure of family life, because he had to earn bread and butter. 

In 2008, McGregor began training at the Straight Blast Gym (SBG) in Dublin under renowned Coach John Kavanagh. McGregor began intensive training for MMA at the age of 18. Although he initially started training in Boxing, later transitioned to MMA. He especially trained in MMA, Boxing, Kickboxing, BJJ, Karate, Capoeira and more to become a famous fighter. 

On 17 February 2007, at the age of 18, McGregor made his Mixed Martial Arts debut in an amateur fight against Kieran Campbell for the Irish Ring of Truth promotion in Dublin. He won the match via Technical knockout (TKO) in the first round.

Early career (2008–2013) On 9 March 2008, McGregor had his first professional MMA bout, as a Lightweight division, defeating Gary Morris with a second-round Technical Knockout (TKO). He won his second fight against Mo Taylor. 

But McGregor lost his professional featherweight debut to Artemij Sitenkov in 2008. The fight was McGregor’s third professional one. It took place in front of just a couple of hundred spectators in Dublin. He was then only 19 years old and was relatively unknown. 

McGregor, nicknamed “The Notorious” also a “trouble maker” defeated Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 on November 12, 2016 to win the UFC lightweight title. McGregor defeats Chad Mendes at UFC 189, to win the interim title. He won the undisputed featherweight title defeating Aldo at UFC 194. Thus he became the first fighter to hold UFC titles in multiple divisions simultaneously, coining the term for him ” Champ Champ”.

McGregor is a former Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweight and lightweight double-champion. He is still a sensation in the world of MMA. He earned an enormous amount of money from fighting. His lavish lifestyle  inspires many ambitious MMA fighters.

McGregor lives in a great vacation property in Marbella, Spain, and a home in Las Vegas, USA where big fights are arranged. The audience bet on their favourite fighters. McGregor Still Active

Owing to fracturing his tibia and fibula during his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021, McGregor has been out of fighting. He will finally make his long-awaited return to the UFC later this year to fight with American star Michael Chandler.

McGregor has so far fought Twent-Eight Matches. He won 19 matches by Knockout, 1 match by Submission, 2 matches by Decision and lost 6 matches. He is currently on vacation in France.
