In most physical sports, especially combat sports fighters are required to wear some sort of protection for the most sensitive part of their limbs. Despite the strict rules not to hit the groin or precisely testicles which are informally called ‘balls’,  those are vulnerable to the opponent’s inadvertent attack. So the fighters essentially need to wear groin guard before entering  the octagon. Today’s topic is about male fighters’ protection of balls against injury  during fighting.

Groyne Protection:

A doubt has been created by the question of whether MMA fighters wear protection for their balls. Naturally, male MMA fighters are required to wear cups because they are proven to protect against hard punches, kicks, and knee jabs. The groyne area lies between the abdomen and the upper thigh on either side of the body that also covers the penis and testicles.

A Groyne protector or Cup is something that is worn to protect a grappler’s vital parts of the limbs. Even though striking at the groin is not allowed in BJJ, any accidental hit could happen in the heat of the moment. MMA fighters nowadays wear various types of Cups preferring comfortability. Of them, Jock-Style Straps are popular because those are built into compression-like jammers which hold the Cup in a secure pouch. MMA fighters are required to wear protective cups as part of their standard uniform when fighting in UFC fights.

Final Words:

Without wearing protection for the balls, MMA fighters could not fight at all. In respect of receiving pain in the groyne, MMA is a more dangerous combat sport than any other martial arts. A massive kick could result in death. A groyne guard also known as a Jockstrap, Testicle protector, Ball guard or Egg cup. It is a vital piece of protective equipment to protect the abdomen and the adjacent lower limbs from fatal injuries by beatings and kicks.

Therefore, MMA fighters, especially when they fight for championship under UFC, prefer Men Athletic Supporter Jockstraps for Underwear with Removable Flex Shield Cup. Wearing groyne guard MMA fighting cannot be comfortable but it is absolutely unwise not to wear the protection while fighting.
