Cejudo vs Nurmagomedov:

First of all, Cejudo and Nurmagomedov both were contemporary MMA fighters. But there is no record that they ever fought each other. Nurmagomedov had a height of 1.78 m, and a weight of 70 kg. While Cejudo had a height of 1.63 m, and a weight of 61 kg. Nurmagomedov competed in the lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was the longest-reigning UFC Lightweight Champion ever, having held the title from April 2018 to March 2021. With 29 wins and no losses, he retired with an undefeated record with much praise and applause for fame.

Nurmagomedov participated in many more matches than Cejudo. The former is more experienced than the latter. He was an ultimate fighter who employed a wrestling-based style of relentless pressure against his opponents. It is often described as “mauling”. Injury from his attack was compared to injury caused by a ferocious animal. Using a variety of wrestling and judo/sambo takedowns, he used to force his opponents against the cage and locked up their legs and an arm to prevent them from escaping.

Nurmagomedov always fought in the lightweight division. His weight and height would give him an extra advantage over Cejudo. Since Mixed Martial Arts is a serious kind of close combat sport, sometimes knockout cases happen. Even the favorite fighter unexpectedly loses consciousness from the blow by the opponent. At times, surprising wins happen.

Can Cejudo beat Nurmagomedov:

Cejudo fights in two divisions flyweight (115 pounds) and bantamweight (123 pounds). On the other hand, Nurmagomedov was a lightweight division(132 pounds) fighter. The question is whether Cejudo could defeat Nurmagomedov if ever they would have fought. The answer is yes, but the chances are pretty slim. The flyweight has to find the perfect time and right technique to hit the opponent to a vulnerable point, like the head, which is the best way to get a Knockout. But it would not be an easy task to overpower Nurmagomedov as he is highly experienced to resist heavy blows from his opponent in the octagon

nurmagomedov's Opinion of Cejudo Surprising:

Nurmagomedov never boasts of his ability outside the octagon. He always maintains respectful professional mannerisms. During his appearance on Mike Tyson’s podcast, “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson’, he modestly gave his opinions that Henry Cejudo is a former UFC bantamweight champion, flyweight champion, and Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling Cejudo is ahead of him. He also called Ce judo’s Olympic gold medal win ‘a dream’ for a fighter. Considering everything, Nurmagomedov believes Cejudo is a better fighter than him.

On the other hand, Cejudo has a respectful and emotional relationship with the Nurmagomedov family. He is seen pictured with Nurmagomediv’s Father. He respects Nurmagomedov’s decision to retire from MMA to focus on his family interest. His mother told him to quit fighting jobs and he did.

Conclusion:

Undefeated lightweight division in MMA, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s reputation is at stake with an imaginary fight with Henry Cejudo. Maybe it is a win-win situation between them. Or other deductions, since Nurmagomedov never lost, he wouldn’t be defeated by Cejudo either.
