The US Navy SEAL in full form is the Navy Sea, Air, and Land (SEAL) Teams. It is commonly known as Navy seals. They are a member of a special operations force trained to engage in direct raids or assaults on enemy targets. They are specially trained to conduct reconnaissance missions as well. Today we shall discuss the comparative fighting skill and strength of an experienced MMA fighter and a Navy SEAL.

The emergence of the Nthe avy Seal

Having watched the massive devastating impacts of World War II, the US Navy acknowledged the need for covert reconnaissance of coastal defenses and landing beaches. In recognition of that, the Amphibious Scout and Raider School was established in 1942 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Subsequently, in 1962, the U.S. Navy SEALs were established by President John F. Kennedy as a small, elite maritime military force to conduct unconventional warfare to modern-day day challenges.

Martial Arts That Navy SEALs Use:

The U.S. Navy SEALs practice the most serious martial art Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighting style is one of the most complex Martial Arts in grappling fights. The art consists of a multitude of highly efficient and deadly operations. They also practice Muay Thai (Thai boxing). Muay Thai along with Jiu-Jitsu is an ideal martial art for close combat situations and makes it a natural choice for Navy SEALs to incorporate into their training. Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) is a Navy-Marine Corps combative program that allows them to train, earn, and wear MCMAP belts.

The U.S. Navy SEALs are hard nuts to crack. Their important personal traits for SEALs include maturity, self-assurance, and self-confidence. They don’t mind working under stress. They are willing to follow orders and able to work even under highly risky conditions. They are not only trained in martial arts but also trained with modern technologies, including sophisticated weapons.

Close contact hand-to-hand combat

The US Navy SEALs are trained to operate in harsh conditions. Their main functions are conducting small-unit special operation missions in maritime, jungle, urban, arctic, mountainous, and desert environments. They are typically under commands to capture or kill high-level targets, or to gather intelligence behind enemy lines. SEAL team personnel are scrutinized for a strict selection, are highly trained, and possess a high degree of proficiency in direct action (DA). Their training is uncompromising, especially in special reconnaissance (SR), sabotage, demolition, intelligence gathering, and hydrographic reconnaissance.

On the other hand, MMA fighters trained to be close-contact combat fighters anddddd over the years they unmistakably experienced fighting with tough opponents. Like a Navy SEAL, a professional MMA fighter is a serious combatant as he fights for his career, name, and fame.

MMA Fighters Skills

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a full-contact combat sport based on striking, grappling, and ground fighting. The combat sports incorporate techniques from various combat sports namely Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Judo, Karate, Wrestling, and other popular disciplines taken from all around the world. MMA fighters use all applicable martial arts. It is an extremely close combat sport.

In close contact hand-to-hand combat, MMA fighters are experts at close combat fights. While  U.S. Navy SEALs are well-trained with high-quality technical equipment to track down an enemy. They are also trained to hand-to-hand fight with high-caliber fighters like MMA fighters. U.S. Navy SEALs are trained to terminate their targeted enemies, not just they are expected to participate in a match. But MMA fighters are never expected to kill anyone because they are not fighting with enemy forces like Navy SEALs. Moreover, there have been no fights taken place officially between MMA and SEALs. Just a  bar brawl happened when UFC legend Chuck Liddel used to work as a bartender in California. He got into a fight with a group of Navy SEALs, but he was just by himself got them. Although Navy SEALs are trained for street fighting, MMA fighters are more comfortable fighting in the street and the Octagon than US Navy SEALs. However, Navy SEALs can fight with experienced MMA fighters as their training does not differ much. The big difference is MMA fighters fight in an Octagon according to the rules set by the promotion companies, like the UFC.

Brandon W.K. Wolff, nicknamed Killer Bee, was born October 18, 1975, and is an American mixed martial artist. He is a former Navy SEAL. Wolf is perhaps best known for his short stint in the Welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). His records for MMA fighting are not so impressive.

Conclusion

The US Navy SEALs is a sophisticated elite force that is used for high-level operations. They are highly trained both physically by learning basic martial arts and with advanced firearms for reconnaissance operations. MMA fighters are trained by their determination and willingness, mostly under the trainer’s instructions. They regularly train in different, most arduous ways. It is a fact, MMA fighters can focus on hand-to-hand combat more than  US Navy SEALs. Therefore, there is a good chance for experienced MMA fighters to dominate US Navy SEALs in hand-to-hand combat.
